The New Atlético Madrid: the post Griezmann Era

In the last seasons, the offensive reference and organiser of Atlético Madrid squad was Antoine Griezmann but, since the last summer, increasing rumours surrounded the player, saying he is now more interested in winning or at least compiting for the next years titles like LaLiga or the Champions League. So he is not going to be the offensive reference of the team anymore. Instead, the purchase the portuguese peospect Joao Félix, with an exorbitated price of 120 million €. This is a drastic change, implying changes in the structure of the game (Simeone now has to decide if the 2 strikers he usually display are Costa-Morata or Costa-Félix). But this is not all. The veteran defenders of the team, Godín, Juanfran and Filipe Luis, all of them over 30yo, and all of the important to maintain what in LaLiga is commonly know as "the wall of Simeone" in the last years. Jovic: The Last Example on How Football Lacks Future Stars

Luka Jovic has signed with Real Madrid just a couple of days ago. An ammount of 60M€ plus up to 5M€ on extras, have moved him to Madrid, buying the 27 goals and 7 assists made in Europa League and the Bundesliga to the Champions League and LaLiga. Looking back to what happened to Mariano Díaz, signed last summer from Lyon, can anyone believe that Jovic is the star Madrid needs? I don't think so. First of all, they already have a World Class player, a true one, as striker, Karim Benzema. Ok, he's already over 30 yo, but still he doesn't need the same physicial habilities that other players do. Then we have to make a question. Is Zidane thinking to play with a 4-4-2 so he would be able to play with both of them? Or Jovic is gonna be on the bench, cutting his progression. Also, that would make that at least one midfielder would go to the bench.
